Bulgaria won a second silver medal at the 2024 European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia on Monday. In the men’s 109 kg category, Hristo Hristov finished second with a total of 380 kg (a snatch lift of 175 kg and a clean and jerk lift of 205 kg).

Dadash Dadashbayli from Azerbaijan claimed the gold with a total of 388 kg (176 kg + 212 kg). The bronze went to German Matthaus Hofmann with a total of 378 kg lifted (172 kg + 206 kg).

The Bulgarian weightlifting team tops the overall provisional standings at the 2024 European Weightlifting Championships with four gold medals, two silvers and one bronze.
