Aleksandar Vezenkov on Wednesday made his official debut with the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association, the professional basketball league in North America. The best Bulgarian basketball player stayed on the court for 15:36 minutes in an away match in which the Kings defeated the Utah Jazz 130-114. It was the Californians' fist game in the new season.

Vezenkov thus became officially the second Bulgarian ever to play in the NBA after Georgi Glouchkov, the current President of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation, who played for the Phoenix Suns between 1985 and 1986.

Vezenkov joined the game as a substitute in the middle of the first quarter, and seconds later hit a three-pointer for 20-18. He scored a total of eight points and registered two rebounds and two steals.

The 28-year-old had his first taste of NBA basketball in a preseason match on October 9, when the Sacramento Kings played the Toronto Raptors. In his limited time on the court back then, he became his team's leading scorer.

The Kings' next game will be on October 28 at 5 a.m. Bulgarian time, when they will host the Golden State Warriors.
