European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Senior Vice President Renato Arena was in Varna to watch some of the European Men's Volleyball Championship games. The Italian head shared his impressions with the official website of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BFV).

"My impressions are entirely positive. I worked closely with the Bulgarian federation at the previous European Championships and before that for the World Championships. Italy and Bulgaria were the organisers and we worked hand in hand. I have always seen how impressive your [BFV] president Lyubomir Ganev and his teamwork work. There is no need to discuss - Bulgaria is at the highest level," Arena said.

"Bulgaria has very good athletes. Maybe you need to make some changes. But I'm not allowed to talk about sports-technical things. That is not part of my duties. But I can say about the fans - they were fantastic. You can also see on TV that they create a wonderful atmosphere," he said.

"My second passport is from Bulgaria. I have come here so many times. I can't remember exactly how many. I love coming to Bulgaria and that's why I say this is my second homeland," Arena added.
