Bulgaria is sending its strongest wrestlers to the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade September 16–24, which is the first 2024 Paris Summer Olympics qualification.
In the men's first team, only European U23 champion Georgi Ivanov (125 kg category) will miss out due to a herniated disc surgery and will be replaced by Islam Adizov.
Two names are left out of the women’s line-up: Olympic bronze medallist Taybe Yusein and European champion Miglena Selishka, who are both still recovering from injuries.
Janan Manolova (59 kg) is back in the women's line-up after her maternity leave.
The first five competitors in each category will get a berth for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. These are the four medalists plus the winner in a bout between the fifth-placed competitors.
There will be two Bulgarian judges, Dimitar Chifudov and Nedyalko Kireziev, at the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade.
