More than 250 children Monday participated in the Presidential Test in Vidin, the town hall said. The event, which is part of the Practice Sports with the President initiative proposed by President Rumen Radev, brought together children from the local sports clubs. Radev attended the event.
The test took place at a renovated indoor track. It assesses the children's general physical fitness and is a comprehensive programme of motivation and physical education. It comprises seven exercises: a standing jump, ball throwing, push-ups, sit-ups, shuttle run, 400m run and flexibility testing. The top achievers in the Presidential Test during the year will get prizes and the Young Athlete title at the end of the school year.
The Practice Sports with the President initiative aims to promote physical activity through extracurricular sports activities and alternative forms of physical education in an attempt to counteract a sedentary lifestyle.
