site.btaAdventure Park to Replace 55-Year-Old Quarry near Pomorie

Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov has ordered the termination of any procedures for granting a concession for the extraction of inert materials at a quarry which has been in operation for 55 years near the Black Sea town of Pomorie. A modern adventure park will be developed on the site, the Energy Ministry said on Sunday.

This decision resolves a long-standing issue for local residents, who have been affected by explosions from the quarry. Stankov and Pomorie Municipality Mayor Ivan Alexiev presented the new project.

The site, spanning over 10 hectares, will be reclaimed and transformed into one of the major attractions along the Southern Black Sea coast.
