Bulgarian Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh and Hungarian Minister of National Economy Marton Nagy signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of tourism, the Tourism Ministry said here on Monday. The document aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and create preconditions for sustainable development of the tourism sector between the two countries.

The MoU lays emphasis on exchange of information and experience in the field of tourism, including statistics and national strategies. It encourages cooperation in education and vocational training in tourism, the development of health tourism, as well as the establishment of direct contacts between representatives of the tourism business in Bulgaria and Hungary. The document also provides for the establishment of a working group to coordinate and monitor the implementation of joint projects.

In the words of Minister Borshosh, the signing of the memorandum reflects the two countries' aspiration to deepen their partnership in tourism and to create conditions for increasing the tourist flow bilaterally. Minister Nagy stressed the importance of cooperation in the exchange of experience and good practices, all the more so now that Bulgaria is part of the Schengen area.

By signing this document, Bulgaria and Hungary are taking another step towards strengthening their relations and creating opportunities for new initiatives in tourism, the release says.
