The first project, titled "Bulgarian-Cypriot Educational Diplomacy – Historical and Geographical Parallels," focuses on exploring historical and geographical ties between Bulgaria and Cyprus while creating valuable educational resources for students.
The second project involves organizing a forum highlighting key events, contributions, and the work of notable figures who have played a leading role in Bulgarian-Cypriot educational diplomacy.
The forum will bring together representatives of the Bulgarian and Cypriot communities, diplomats, teachers, researchers, and students. During the event, students and teachers from the Bulgarian Sunday schools in Nicosia and Polis will present five educational resources developed on the forum’s theme.
Academic mentorship for both projects is provided by Professor Dimitar Simeonov from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. As part of the initiative, a separate academic publication will also be introduced.
The projects are expected to be completed by June 30, featuring initiatives aimed at expanding students’ knowledge and strengthening their connection to Bulgaria.
Initiated by Bulgaria’s Ministry of Education and Science, the Untold Stories of Bulgarians programme seeks to instil patriotism in students, foster enhance their personal qualities and improve their understanding of Bulgarian values and historical heritage.
