The Urban Wine Fest Sofia 2024 was opened on Friday in the capital's Largo, said the organizers from the Bulgarian Association of Wine Professionals. The festival, which will be on until October 19, is dedicated to the diversity of local wine grape varieties, which give Bulgarian wines an authentic appearance. A team of wine experts will present more than 40 wines from over 17 local varieties.
The musical programme of the festival will feature the performance of the Sofia Jazz Formation on Friday and the Sofia Brass Orchestra on Saturday.
Entry is free of charge, and wine tastings and consumption of wine and food will be paid for on site.
The Urban Wine Fest Sofia 2024 is the third event in a series of urban wine festivals held in October. The festivals in Veliko Tarnovo (North Central Bulgaria) and Varna (on the Black Sea) have already passed, while the festival in Plovdiv (South Central Bulgaria) is coming up. The series is dedicated to the International Mavrud Day on October 26.
The events are not suitable for people under the age of 18.
