The roadblock on major roads in Stara Zagora lasted all night and continues to this moment, the local trade union of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) in the Maritza East 2 Thermal Power Plant told BTA.  Protesting miners and energy workers have been blocking for more than a day the Hainboaz pass near the village of Gurkovo, the Trakia motorway to Stara Zagora and Haskovo at the 208th kilometer and the main Sofia-Burgas road.

The trade union said that protesters have no intentions to give up, and there is no tension between protesters and police. Regarding Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov's invitation for negotiations in Sofia, the union said they are still considering whether to accept.
