site.btaBulgaria's RSV 421 Arrives in Spanish Port of Cartagena
In the late hours of November 15, the Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) was moored in the Spanish port of Cartagena, the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in the Black Sea city of Varna said on Facebook.
At Cartagena, the vessel will stock up on fresh provisions and fuel for its transoceanic voyage. Over 20 tonnes of materials for the Spanish Antarctic bases will also be loaded on board to support the Spanish Antarctic Programme, whose main logistics base is in Cartagena.
Cartagena is also where the short-term practical training of the Naval Academy cadets ends.
RSV 421 set sail for Antarctica on November 7. This is the 33rd Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition.
