Actor Alexander Kadiev and novelist Georgi Gospodinov are among the Bulgarian celebrities who have lent their faces and voices for the exhibition Hear My Voice: Stories from a Man’s Soul, which highlights the subject of male emotional health. This is the centrepiece of the third installment of a campaign by the Emprove Foundation. The exhibition at the ONE Gallery in Sofia will be on until November 18, the organizers said.
The event is aimed to draw public attention to the male psyche in the month of an international campaign called Movember, which is intended to raise awareness of men’s health issues. Emprove noted that mental health care is just as important as care for our physical health.
The exhibition will impress visitors not only with remarkable portrait photographs but also with sound. The portraits are the starting point of a journey to the soul of men, with their voices serving as a conduit. Pavel Chervenkov, who is known for having photographed some of the best Bulgarian actors, is behind Hear My Voice. The voices were recorded by Emilian “Elbi” Gatsov, an award-winning composer of theatre and film music.
The organizers recommend visitors to bring headphones. Admission is free.
