The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) issued a level two warning (orange code) for significant snowfall and rain in nine regions of the country on December 25.
An orange code was issued for settlements in the districts of Vratsa, Gabrovo, Lovech, Montana, Pleven, Ruse, Smolyan, Sofia region and Targovishte.
NIMH has also announced a level one warning (yellow code) for significant snowfall and rain for settlements in 16 regions of the country, with a warning for wind and rainfall in the eastern regions.
Over the next 24 hours, the meteorological situation will become more complicated. A moderate to strong north-northeasterly wind will bring a cold front. The weather will be cloudy, with almost widespread, in places significant, rainfall, and snowfall in the Fore-Balkan and on the high fields, as well as later in Central Northern Bulgaria, and in Ludogorie. Lows: -1 to 8-10C. Highs: 2-10C, with the higher temperatures being at the Black sea coast.
