The Global Libraries - Bulgaria Foundation (GLBF) presented its eighth annual awards. The ceremony took place on Monday evening as part of the Libraries Today Forum.

Nova News was recognized in the national media category, for the show "Social Network", hosted by Milena Janinska. Radio Ruse was awarded the prize for media with regional coverage.

The prize for public institution was awarded to Ruse Municipality. The award for sponsor in the name of Snezhana Yaneva went to Evgeniya Vladimirova - donor and sponsor of the regional library  in Silistra. "I am honoured to present this award in the name of Snezhana Yaneva - the woman who brought me to this society of culture, of development. And I am grateful that now I see how this is developing," said Mihail Boyadjiev, chairman of the Foundation’s board of directors.

"Libraries are what they are thanks to people like you", said Deputy Culture Minister Amelia Gesheva, thanking libraries representatives for their "daily care, for their professionalism, for their love", as well as their sponsors. 

The prizes were awarded by a committee chaired by Georgi Lozanov - Director of the LIK Department at the Bulgarian News Agency and Prof. Vladimir Atanassov, Georgi Konstantinov, Snezhana Yoveva and GLBF Executive Director Spaska Tarandova.
