A national forum dubbed "Brand Bulgaria - Wonders of UNESCO" will be held at Hotel Marinela Sofia in the Bulgarian capital on Friday. The news was reported on Thursday by the organizer, the Cultural Heritage Society (CHS), which is a member of Europe's largest organization for the protection of cultural heritage, Europa Nostra.

The event will be attended by Vice President Iliana Iotova, Culture Minister Naiden Todorov, Deputy Tourism Minister Pavlin Petrov and National Assembly Culture and Media Committee Chair Angel Yanchev.

During the forum, Culture Minister Todorov will present Bulgaria's concept for hosting the 47th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2025, CHS said. Expert opinions will be expressed by members of the country's legislative and executive branches of government, local authorities, historians, archaeologists, representatives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and universities, creative industry professionals, NGO representatives and media experts.

By hosting the 47th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee next year, Bulgaria will be promoted to a new, strategic level of European and world policy planning for the protection of cultural heritage and will gain a place on the world map of cultural treasuries, CHS said.

The 47th Session will also offer Bulgaria a chance to present to an expected 4,000 participants from 193 countries its rich cultural heritage and its potential as a driver of the policies and the processes of positioning cultural heritage in the new smart, innovative and energy-neutral cities. It will pave the way for adding more Bulgarian heritage sites to UNESCO's lists, where the latest Bulgarian tangible-heritage entry was made 40 years ago, CHS said.
