site.btaSofia's Oborishte Street Hosts Big Table Community Event
On Saturday, the Oborishte street in Sofia hosted its second Big Table event, which aimed to foster community around a long table at the capital's central neighborhood, the organizers from the Imp-Act Agency said on Facebook.
The first such event was held in July and featured a 60-metre long table, while Saturday's event had a table twice as big, 120-metres, which united neighbours and small businesses from the neighborhood. Visitors shared home-cooked food and fostered community, while the special gusts from embassies in the area brought samples of their national cuisine.
Small food, desert and drink businesses from the area also featured their products at the gathering, including HleBar, Le Petit Quché, quche37, il Fornetto - Pizza Station, MIAM, Gelato & Latte, Оnagiri_Ba, Cheese the Queen and Street Chefs, Sofia natural wine club, Pop the cork, Monkey Shoulder cocktails and FlipFlop, with the support of Delion, the organizers said. Neighbors from the Unique Estates real estate agency and guests of the neighborhood from by.entree also joined the initiative with sweet surprises and support, and IKEA provided a Big Table especially for the children, the Imp-act Agency said.
The event had a rich music programme featuring popular Sofia street musicians, including Isus, Bat Sali, Georgi Ikonomov, Philip Donkov, Despi & Rada, Cuba & Veli Acoustic, Dolce banditi musica di Francesca Diagonali, Selector Stazz. Throughout the day, visitors were able to see an exhibition about the Sofia's history and heritage, titled "Sofia in the Past" by Bohemian Sofia, and the Central Halls culture and art scene, the organizers added.
The second Big table event was part of European Mobility Week and took place on the the day before Car-Free Day.
