The 11th edition of 180 Degrees focuses on experimental interdisciplinary formats. The Innovative Art Lab will be held for the first time in October, 4-11, the organizers said.

The festival continues to follow its mission of showing experimental approaches that unite and stimulate the independent scene.

The participants include Bulgarian pianist Dimitar Gorchakov, who participates in various international projects in the field of jazz, electronic and classical music, performance artist and poet Jacqueline Weihe (Germany), the digital artist Tom Lane (Great Britain/Germany), the flutist Delphine Roche (France) and curator Victoria Draganova (Bulgaria).

In addition to the traditional Videomotion short silent film competition, there will be laboratories, workshops, discussions, lectures and other surprises, united under the umbrella of the cultural and educational program of 180 Degrees Community Lab.

Community Lab provides opportunities for the development of young artists and creates artistic networks by involving socio-cultural institutions to bring society closer to art and its social functions. In 2023, Community Lab was awarded a nomination in two categories for the prestigious European Award of the Art Explora international organization, the organizers recalled.

Within the programme there will be a creativity laboratory for young artists (October 6, Swimming Pool), aimed at high school art students, focused on the creation and realization of interdisciplinary original concepts. The Improvisation Lab (October 1 and 2, Central Sofia Market Hall) is for students exploring abstract sounds and spontaneous art-making. The Composition Lab (October 6, Sofia Traveler's Club) is geared toward young composers looking to exchange ideas and receive personalized feedback. The Critical Writing Lab (September – November 2024) is for students and young professionals who wish to advance their critical writing skills while engaging with contemporary art. Student Laboratory (October 10, Swimming Pool) unites students from Germany, Italy and Bulgaria in artistic collaborations.
