Sofia's St Ivan Rilski University of Mining and Geology Rector Prof. Ivaylo Koprev has conferred with the Chargé d'Affaires of the embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Bulgaria, Renske Vos, the university said. The meeting was aimed at exploring opportunities for cooperation in science and education.

Prof. Koprev introduced the university and highlighted its long history and traditions in training highly qualified specialists in the fields of extractive industries, geology, and sustainable development. He briefed the Chargé d'Affaires on the university's ongoing projects and initiatives, given the potential for partnerships in areas such as mineral exploration, extraction, and processing. The Chargé d'Affaires welcomed the opportunity for further cooperation with the St Ivan Rilski University of Mining and Geology. The sides also discussed opportunities for organizing public lectures that could help promote cooperation and knowledge sharing.
