site.btaBelgium's Just Vox Presents Song with Bulgarian Folk Motifs at Jazz Fest in Borovets

Belgian a capella group Just Vox sang Stromae's L'enfer featuring Bulgarian folk song motifs at the Dr Emil Iliev International Jazz Festival in Borovets on Tuesday. Singers Valentine, Veronique, Oriane and Philippe and beatboxer BigBen talked to the media earlier in the day.

Valentine said she was not sure if their technique replicates the one used by Bulgarian folk singers. The group tries to grasp the sounds and then imitate them.

The quintet has a large repertoire. Its members' musical tastes differ, which is a strong point because it helps them to experiment, according to Veronique. The group reinvents songs familiar to the audience and has not written its own songs yet.

Just Vox is the closing act on the fifth evening of the festival.
