This year's edition of Sofia Paper Art Fest (SPAF) will take place under the motto "Without Borders", the organizers said here on Monday. It will be held from May 31 to June 11 at the National Palace of Culture (NPC) in Sofia.

The 14th edition of the festival will be held with two large-scale exhibitions at the NPC.

"Every year, the festival showcases hundreds of works from around the world in its various sections. The programme is balanced, including a rich variety of side events and formats," say the organizers.

They added that the first exposition will present sculptures and installations by Bulgarian artists from the second edition of the “Might II” competition. It will feature works by Adelina Rakovska, Ekaterina Hristova and Emil Deyanov, Elena Belova, Silvana Ilieva, Siana Damyanova, Hristina Decheva, Tsveta Petrova.

A curatorial selection of foreign large-format works from the Biennial will be presented in the same space, as they will be in sync with the Bulgarian installations and sculptures.

"The idea of contrast and synchrony between global and Bulgarian paper art is united under the motto 'Without Borders'," the team of the event noted.

The second exhibition will be the 15th edition of the Amateras Annual Exhibition/Competition for Paper Art. This section of the festival traditionally presents an international selection with a prize fund. In 2024, it will include 98 works by 50 artists from 17 countries. An international jury will select the winners.
