The first joint event of the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA) and the European University of Film and Media Arts FilmEU in Bulgaria will take place on January 18, NATFA announced.

The first public information meeting on FilmEU will take place in the auditorium of NATFA, where its objectives, partners, and expected results in the next four-year period will be presented.

NATFA writes that the European University of Film and Media Arts will lead to revolutionary changes in higher education in the field of screen arts by promoting cooperation, mobility of students and teachers, innovation and exchange of ideas.

NATFA is part of FilmEU. In response to the European Commission's call to deepen, expand and strengthen existing cooperation, FilmEU announced four new partners, expanding its parameters from an initial consortium of four institutions to a group of eight higher education institutions from across Europe.

FilmEU, led by Lusófona University in Portugal, includes original consortium members Luca School of Arts in Belgium, IADT - Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art Design and Technology in Ireland and Tallinn University in Estonia.

The new members are Academy of Performing Arts in Slovakia, LMTA - The Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Lithuania, VIA University College in Denmark and NATFA. This enhanced partnership will further strengthen the diverse expertise and disciplines represented in the cultural and creative industries, while further strengthening Europe's position as a global leader in education, research and innovation in the cultural and creative fields, NATFA added.
