A festival dedicated to Dutch painter Rembrandt will be held on January 9 at the Theatre Hall of Sofia University, its press centre said. The topics of discussion will focus on the painter's artistic, literary and philosophical approaches, and how the great Rembrandt can be experienced digitally.

Rembrandt Fest takes place in partnership with the Cultural Centre of Sofia University and is part of the interdisciplinary project "In the Mirror of Rembrandt", organized by New Bulgarian University. During the one-day fest, foreign and Bulgarian experts will reflect on Rembrandt's work, the Sofia University added.

The event is expected to start with a welcoming speech by Dutch Ambassador to Bulgaria Simon van der Burg. The Rembrandt Fest will feature curators from the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam), Dr. Friso Lammertse and Dr. Erik Hinterding, who will talk about "Rembrandt as an innovative printmaker - techniques, ideas, effects" and present "Contemporary Curatorial Practices". Dr. Boryana Katsarska, Yavora Petrova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yassen Zahariev (NBU) will speak on "Artistic, Literary and Philosophical Approaches to Rembrandt", and Martin Petkov and Strahil Yordanov on "Digital Experience and Rembrandt", as well as on the project "Vincent Meets Rembrandt".
