A book of condolence in memory of Pope Francis was put on display at the apostolic nunciature here on Wednesday. The book was opened in the presence of Archbishop Luciano Suriani, the Apostolic Nuncio to Bulgaria.

Bishop Petko Valov, the head of the Episcopal Conferences in Bulgaria, told BTA on Tuesday that Strahil Kavalenov, who serves as Bishop of Nicopolis, will represent the Catholic Church in Bulgaria.

Pope Francis's funeral will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. local time (11 a.m. Bulgarian time), the Vatican said on Tuesday.
