site.btaDeputy Foreign Minister Angelieva Receives Credentials from New Norwegian Ambassador Hilde Svartdal Lunde

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Bulgaria, based in Bucharest, Hilde Svartdal Lunde, presented copies of her credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Angelieva, the Foreign Ministry said here on Tuesday.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the productive cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and within international organizations. They discussed the role of the European Economic Area (EEA) financial instruments and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, which support key projects in Bulgaria.

Angelieva and Lunde agreed on the need to strengthen partnerships in areas such as innovation, digitalization, scientific research, and the development of startup businesses. They noted that there is untapped potential for expanding trade and economic relations.

Particular attention was paid to the ongoing geopolitical challenges related to the war in Ukraine, with both sides emphasizing the need for joint efforts to strengthen European security and stability.
