Nearly 100 people donated blood at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) in Sofia on Tuesday for those injured in the Kocani nightclub fire of March 16, the MMA said. The blood donation campaign was launched earlier in the day as part of an initiative of the Bulgarian Red Cross, the Pirogov Emergency Hospital, and the National Centre for Transfusion Hematology.

Many are waiting to donate in front of the Centre, the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) said. On Monday, over 120 people made a blood donation.

Those who wish to donate blood for the injured, part of whom are hospitalized in Pirogov, can do so on the second floor of the emergency hospital on Tuesday and in a special BRC tent in front of Pirogov by the end of the week.

Blood donation campaigns for those injured in the Kocani fire are underway in various cities across Bulgaria, such as Veliko Tarnovo and Blagoevgrad.

The injured being treated in Bulgaria remain in critical condition, the Health Ministry said on Facebook.
