site.btaPM: Bulgaria Has Offered Medical Treatment to Victims of Kocani Fire


Bulgaria has offered its help in the form of medical treatment to the victims of the fire in the Republic of North Macedonia, which killed at least 50 people, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said on Facebook on Sunday.
At least 50 people have died in a nightclub fire in the Republic of North Macedonia, the MIA news agency reported, citing the Interior Ministry. The blaze broke out in the early hours of Sunday in Kocani, a town around 100 km east of the capital, Skopje. Some 1,500 people were said to have been attending a concert. According to local media reports, the fire may have been caused by the use of pyrotechnic devices, MIA added.
"I have ordered full readiness for admission in the clinical bases in Sofia and Varna. The Bulgarian Air Force is ready to transport those in need of treatment," Zhelyazkov said.
"The fire at a nightclub in Kocani is a huge human tragedy. I offer my condolences to the relatives of the victims and my wishes for the recovery of the injured," the Bulgarian Prime Minister added.
