site.btaDRF-MRF's Hasan Ademov: If Someone Believes There Are Majorities Other Than Ruling One, Let Him Come Forward and Explain

Asked here on Friday whether his parliamentary group will continue supporting the ruling majority, Hasan Ademov MP of Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - MRF (DRF - MRF) told journalists: "From the very start, when we entered the ruling majority, we stated very clearly the reasons why we are backing it. If someone thinks there currently are majorities different than the ruling one, let that person come forward and explain them." 

Earlier on Friday, GERB leader Boyko Borissov voiced concern that the 2025 State Budget Bill will not be adopted on second reading due to the new configuration in Parliament following Thursday's Constitutional Court ruling outlawing the election of 16 MPs. "Now, without [MRF - New Beginning leader] Delyan Peevski, we cannot either adopt budget or work; the other option is elections," Borissov said.

The DRF - MRF parliamentary group explained what their proposals are ahead of the second reading of the 2025 State Budget Bill, the 2025 Public Social Insurance Budget Bill, and 2025 National Health Insurance Fund Budget Bill. These include an increase of the child allowance for year two to BGN 1,000 from the current BGN 780; that requires a raise by BGN 69 million of the state budget resources. Another proposal is to increase to BGN 30 from BGN 18 the minimum unemployment compensation, thus reaching this year's poverty line of BGN 638. Agricultural producers should keep paying BGN 933 in social insurance, instead of the BGN 1,077 set in the 2025 Public Social Insurance Budget Bill as of April 1, which would affect some 43,000 agricultural producers and tobacco growers, explained DRF - MRF Deputy Floor Leader Sevim Ali. Also, changes are needed in the part of the Bill concerning the investment programme for municipalities to ensure the funding is based on clear criteria.
