Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) President Evelina Slavcheva met with Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Bulgaria Dai Qingli here on Monday, the BAS said in a press release. The sides discussed the long-standing scientific cooperation between BAS and various academic institutions in China. 

Readiness to expand and deepen the partnership with the Chinese Academy of Sciences was expressed, noting the successful joint work of BAS and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences scientists.

The sides also discussed a number of joint projects and initiatives implemented by individual units of BAS in partnership with Chinese scientific institutions.

The talks also focused on the possibility of expanding the cultural exchange between Bulgaria and China by organizing thematic exhibitions, joint projects, lectures and other events aimed at promoting the cultural heritage and contemporary artistic life of the two countries.
