Tomorrow [Wednesday], at Joint Governance Council, I think we will make sure that all parties in the coalition support this decision of ours from more than a year ago, Boyko Borissov added in his statement.
"This does not mean that we will not support Ukraine in its reconstruction or will not actively participate in all forms that contribute to peace in Ukraine and to stop the bloodshed," the GERB leader further said.
Bulgarian soldiers will not die on foreign soil, Borissov said.
He explained that in a conversation with the leaders of the parties that are part of the European People's Party (EPP), he had raised the issue of how the deficit in the defence industry, which is very important for Bulgaria - not only for its rearmament, but also for attaining an acceptable deficit level in view of this country's strategic goal to join the eurozone next year.
The European Investment Bank has also been asked to finance and co-finance projects related to Bulgaria's defence industry, Borissov further explained.
"We will participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, for which there are European funds and money allocated, but no money from our budget will go in this direction," Borissov further said.
He announced that Europe should participate in the negotiations on the future of Ukraine because it has suffered all the consequences of the war.
