"Road Rage is a serious problem and addressing it takes both prevention and commitment of the institutions at the highest level," National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova said here on Tuesday. She opened a roundtable discussion dedicated to the measures for solving road safety problems, legislative challenges and initiatives.
"We are aware of the gravity of the problem. This is the second [such] discussion held within a month," Kiselova recalled. She urged the participants in the discussion, along with measures affecting the severity of penalties for offenders, to also look at prevention measures.
The Parliament Chair said it was necessary to hear the opinions of all institutions involved in road safety issues.
The forum was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Transport and Communications Minister Grozdan Karadjov, Justice Minister Georgi Georgiev, State Agency Road Safety Chairperson Malina Krumova, Interior Ministry officials, MPs, and representatives of NGOs involved in tackling road safety.
