Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov is set to take part in the meetings of the European Foreign Affairs Council (Defence) and the European Defence Agency Steering Board, scheduled for November 19 in Brussels, Belgium, the Defence Ministry said in a press release Monday.

The Council meeting will begin with discussions on the EU's military support for Ukraine. Topics include the Ukraine Support Fund, the European Peace Facility, the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine), and the use of extraordinary revenues from frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine.

Defence ministers will subsequently be updated on the progress towards achieving operational readiness of the EU's Rapid Deployment Capacity and the results of the Strategic Review of Permanent Structured Cooperation in Defence. The forum concludes with a discussion on the Union's defence readiness.

The programme also includes the signing of letters of intent for cooperation in four priority areas for joint development of defence capabilities.
