One person died and two were injured in an incident involving fallen scaffolding in a building in Sofia, two others were examined and have no physical injuries, reported the Centre for Emergency Medical Care in Sofia.
According to initial data, one of the victims is 27 years old and has trauma to the spine and pelvis. Another man has chest trauma and respiratory failure. Another two people present, aged 38 and 59, were examined, had no physical injuries and were released. All are from Kyustendil
A 36-year-old man was injured in the accident and passed away, the press centre of St. Anna Hospital in Sofia informed BTA earlier on Sunday.
The Center for Emergency Medical Care - Sofia reported the incident in which at least five people were injured due to a fallen scaffolding. The report came in at 5:31 pm. Four ambulances were immediately dispatched. Fire and emergency teams were dispatched to the scene, said the press service of the Sofia Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, specifying that the incident took place in an industrial building in the area of the airport and was a work-related accident.
During an initial inspection, authorities found that illegal repairs were carried out in a prefabricated reinforced concrete hall in the building, said architect Zdravko Zdravkov, head of the Sofia Directorate for National Construction Control.
