Two people were killed in a Russian missile attack on Odesa on Sunday morning, Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said on Telegram. The attack also injured a 17-year-old boy.
Three houses were damaged as fire broke out from falling debris. Four houses were destroyed, Kiper said.
Loud explosions were heard in Odesa during a Russian missile attack on the whole of Ukraine, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said on Telegram on Sunday. Parts of the city were left without electricity and the city's electric public transport suspended operation.
The massive attack was launched at 6 am local time and the local authorities urged people to stay in bomb shelters.
More than 150,000 Bessarabian Bulgarians live in Odesa Region, which makes them the third largest ethnic group there, according to Ukraine's 2001 official census of the population. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa alone.
