"Today [Friday] we have once again witnessed the failure of our political class in the most basic of things - the election of a [Parliament] chair. Because these people don't seem to understand that this is not the way to work," Radostin Vassilev, the leader of the Morality, Unity, Honour (MeCH) party, told journalists on Friday.
"Today we abstained from supporting anyone and we were against [the GERB-UDF candidate] Raya Nazaryan," he said. Responding to a question, Vassilev said he believes parliament's chair will be elected in an agreement between GERB and CC.
"If a [Parliament] chair is not elected on Wednesday, we will propose a cutting-edge solution," the MeCH leader said, but kept it secret for now.
"What we see in the background - a new assemblage [a term with a negative connotation used to describe the prevous regular cabinet supported by GERB, CC-DB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms) is being prepared, this is clear to everyone. GERB and CC are starting the courtship with the so-called contact expert groups, Vassilev said. "Next week it is very likely that GERB and CC will come to an understanding, however I can't tell who will be part of this assemblage from then on, but this is happening in the background and this is the so-called devil's throat, which we foresaw at the opening of parliament," he said.
Vassilev thanked for Vazrazhdane's invitation for a meeting next Wednesday and pointed out that his party will respond.
