Controlled destruction of scrapped ammunition and other explosive materials dropped from the production process at the state-owned VMZ Sopot ordnance plant is scheduled to be carried out at the Anevo range on Friday, the company reported on its website Wednesday.

VMZ Sopot's operational management has notified the relevant institutions in the municipalities of Karlovo and Sopot in advance and assures local residents that there is no cause for concern.

VMZ Sopot produces mainly anti-tank missiles, artillery ammunition, unguided aviation missiles, and fuzes.

The last controlled destruction of discarded ammunition and other explosive materials was carried out at the end of August.
