Traffic is heavy at the Kardam and Durankulak border control checkpoints with Romania, the Interior Ministry’s Border Police General Directorate said. The information is valid as of 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
On the border with Romania, temporary traffic changes have been introduced across Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is restricted to one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Repairs on the Romanian section of the bridge are also underway. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The last two of these are closed to heavy-duty trucks and are open to passenger cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on the border with Greece. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border crossings.
