Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov sent a notification to Parliament Chair Raya Nazaryan on Thursday regarding the recent detention of MP Dzheyhan Ibryamov due to a serious offence.

Nazaryan convened an extraordinary meeting of the Presiding Council, at which its members were briefed on the notification received on the MP's detention for 24 hours under the Interior Ministry Act, starting from 7:10 pm on October 2, 2024. The meeting was held due to the Parliament being out of session in the midst of the ongoing election campaign for the upcoming snap general elections on October 27. All MP's have already been informed separately on the matter.
