Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev held a working meeting to prepare for the upcoming October 27 snap elections, the Cabinet press centre said on Wednesday. "The best football referees are those who are invisible on the field and intervene only when necessary. That is our role - we do our job only within our authority," he said.

Innovation Minister Rosen Karadimov, Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov, Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov and e-Government Minister Valentin Mundrov participated in the meeting.

Glavchev stressed the need for constant communication with the Central Election Commission, who are leading the organization of the vote.

Karadimov, who has been appointed as the coordinator for the implementation of the activities related to the organizational and technical preparation of the elections, reported on the chronograms that have been drawn up, according to which all deadlines will be strictly monitored. Interior Ministry's measures to counter vote-buying and corporate voting were also discussed during the meeting, as well as the consistent work of the e-Government Ministry to achieve even higher voter confidence in machine voting.
