Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) invited National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan and all political parties, excluding the Movement for Rights and Freedoms’ (MRF) faction that supports party’s Co-Chair Delyan Peevski, to consultations at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, CC said on its Facebook page on Monday.

CC-DB invites National Assembly Chair and all political parties, except for the MRF’s faction that supports Peevski, to hold consultations to set in motion the procedure for the adoption of the Bill to Amend and Supplement the National Audit Office Act, submitted in the National Assembly's registry on August 5, to elect a person with high public trust as Vice President of the National Audit Office, as well as to discuss other possible options for the fastest completion of the constitutional procedure for the election of a caretaker cabinet, the publication said.

“We note that President Rumen Radev took advantage of the opportunities given to him by the changes in the Constitution, by not accepting the draft cabinet proposed by Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva”, CC wrote.

President Rumen Radev Monday set a precedent in Bulgaria's contemporary history as he refused to decree a new caretaker cabinet proposed by prime minister-designate Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva because of Kalin Stoyanov's nomination for caretaker interior minister.

Asked whether Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will respond to the invitation of CC-DB, BSP acting chair Atanas Zafirov said that CC-DB should first give an answer to the Bulgarian public why they changed the Constitution, after which they can make claims and propose solutions. In Zafirov’s words, maybe then they will have a reason to appear in the role of "savior". “We have not received such an invitation yet, there has been a public invitation. There is a meeting of the BSP Executive Bureau tomorrow [Tuesday] and we will discuss all our responses”, BSP chair added.
