There is heavy traffic at the border with Serbia, Greece, Turkiye and Romania, indicates information from the Ministry of the Interior as of 6 am on Sunday. 
Traffic is heavy on the border with Serbia at the Kalotina checkpoint for cars both entering and exiting Bulgaria.

On the border with Greece, the traffic is heavy at the Kulata checkpoint and the Makaza checkpoint.

In connection with the  increased number of Romanian tourists at Kulata" and Makaza, authorities recommends alternative checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Greek border for faster passage.

Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of ​​Thessaloniki, Kavala and the Halkidiki Peninsula can pass through the Ilinden border checkpoint as an alternative to the Kulata border checkpoint. Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of ​​Xanthi, Komotini and Thassos, can use the Zlatograd checkpoint as an alternative to the Makaza checkpoint. For resorts in the area of ​​the city of Alexandropoulis, the Kapitan Petko Voivoda checkpoint is the best alternative route.

Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad border checkpoints.

On the border with Turkiye, traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint and the Lesovo border checkpoint for cars entering the country.
The traffic on the border with Romania is heavy at the Kardam checkpoint at the exit for trucks.

A restriction for trucks passing through the Durankulak checkpoint is in place between 6 am and 10 pm due to high temperatures. Increased traffic of Romanian tourists across the Bulgarian-Romanian and Bulgarian-Greek borders is expected, the Border Police reported.

Due to the major repair of the Bulgarian section of the Danube bridge near Ruse, a temporary organization of traffic has been introduced, In addition to Ruse border checkpoint, drivers in the region can also go to Silistra border checkpoint, Kardam border checkpoint, Durankulak border checkpoint, Kaynardzha border checkpoint and Krushari border checkpoint. The last two are not open for  trucks.

Traffic is normal at all checkpoints on the border with the Republic of North Macedonia.
