Parliament's Friday agenda includes a hearing of caretaker Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov on the construction of facilities for the permanent storage of spent nuclear fuel from Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant and hazardous radioactive waste on the territory of Bulgaria.
Next on the agenda is first reading of revisions to the Civil Registration Act tabled by Vazrazhdane. The amendments propose that a special committee should carry out on-the-spot checks of the actual use of the property and the number of its occupants, and that registration should be refused if the legal requirements are violated. The bill creates the possibility of appealing not only the refusal of registration but also the registration permit. Also envisaged is an increase of the penalties for officials who commit offences in the registration of persons at their permanent or current address.
MPs will also hold first reading of amendments to the Higher Education Act tabled by independent MP Yuliana Mateeva, former member of the now-defunct Velichie group.
Also on Friday's agenda is a draft resolution to amend the resolution tasking the Energy Minister with holding negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart on the sale of equipment for the Belene nuclear plant project. The MPs are also scheduled to debate on a draft resolution tasking the Energy Minister with excluding the steam generators from the list of Belene equipment the sale of which is being negotiated with Ukraine, until an analysis is made of the use of these generators for the needs of Kozloduy NPP.
Within Friday's Question Time, the MPs will hear caretaker ministers Atanas Zapryanov, Nayden Todorov, Vladimir Malinov, Evtim Miloshev and Petko Nikolov.
