Two Swedish planes are fighting the wildfire in the Maleshevska Mountain, replacing the French aircraft, the Directorate General for Fire Safety and Population Protection confirmed on Wednesday.
They added that the situation remains complex, with firefighters, servicemen, forest rangers and volunteers working on the site.
There is no risk to settlements, said earlier on Wednesday Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov in Mikrevo, Strumyani Municipality. A large-scale wildfire has been raging since Tuesday on the territory of the municipality, and caused two settlements to be evacuated, and over 20 firefighting teams and forest rangers and servicemen are participating.
