site.btaMRF Co-chair Peevski Submits to Prosecution Leaked Recordings Discussing Illegal Financing of Elections

Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Co-chair Delyan Peevski has submitted to the Interior Ministry, the State Agency for National Security the prosecution service leaked recordings discussing "unofficial cash", "cash in bags", "the president with the cash", and illegal financing of elections. The recordings appeared on social media and were published on the Facebook page of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria in May. 

Peevski insisted on verifying the authenticity of the recordings, as well as identifying the specific persons involved in the conversations. In case the recordings are confirmed as authentic, the authorities should undertake a thorough investigation.

According to Peevski, it is unacceptable in a European country "such public scandalous revelations" not to be investigated, and those guilty - not to be punished, which is a very bad signal about the state of the fight against corruption at the highest levels of power to the Euro-Atlantic partners of the country.
