A member of the current 50th National Assembly of the Targovishte constituency as well as the 44th and 49th Assemblies. Born on January 18, 1967. Holds a master's degree in accounting. Received training in internal audit in the public sector at the finance ministries of Ireland and the UK, and in public financial inspection at the Portuguese Finance Ministry.

Served as deputy finance minister in the caretaker government of prime minister Georgi Bliznashki (August-November 2014). Energy Minister between 2014 and 2017 and between 2017 and 2021.
