Bulgaria has reaffirmed commitment to international peace initiatives in the Black Sea and Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on its website on Tuesday. It reported that Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Maria Anguelieva and Nevyana Miteva met with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi during a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The two Bulgarian officials delivered a written address from caretaker Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitar Glavchev and reaffirmed the country's commitment to international efforts for sustained peace in the Black Sea region and the Middle East.

During the talks, both countries' representatives expressed commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and broadening collaboration in key sectors including energy, renewable energy sources, new technologies, culture, and education. The dialogue focused on the potential for significant advancements in these areas of mutual interest.

Another key point was the critical need for humanitarian relief in Gaza and the restoration of a political framework to achieve a sustainable two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, aligning with existing UN Security Council resolutions. Both nations discussed their efforts and initiatives to address these pressing regional and global challenges. The two countries agreed to enhance and broaden engagement across all areas of mutual interest.

Earlier this month, Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Anguelieva confirmed Bulgaria’s readiness to provide additional aid to Gaza through the World Health Organization.
