Land Forces Drone Operators Competition to Take Place under President Radev's Auspices

Bulgarian Land Forces drone operators will take part in a competition at the Tyulbe Training Centre near Kazanlak on Thursday. The competition will be held under the auspices of the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, the Defence Ministry’s press centre said.

The head of State will be welcomed at the training centre by a guard of honour prior to the start of the competition, Radev’s press secretariat said. The President will award the winning team at a ceremony. President Radev will be accompanied by his spouse, Desislava Radeva.

Nine teams will take part in the competition: three from the 2nd Mechanized Brigade in Stara Zagora, two from the 61st Mechanised Brigade in Karlovo, one from the Third Brigade Command in Blagoevgrad, one from the Fifth Brigade Command in Pleven, and one from the Smolyan-based 101st Alpine Regiment. Each team will be made up of two servicemen with two unmanned aerial vehicles.

There will also be a static display of weapons and equipment. During the event, representatives of the Bulgarian defence industry will demonstrate the combat capabilities of drones manufactured by them and anti-drone systems.
