The caretaker cabinet Wednesday adopted a decision on the sending and use outside of Bulgaria's territory of military equipment and personnel within the Mine Counter-measures Task Group Black Sea (MCM Black Sea), established by Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkiye in January. The decision allows up to four military ships (frigates with up to 153 crew members and minesweepers with up to 50 crew members) with their armament to participate in the implementation of tasks in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of MCM Black Sea.

The ships will sail within the exclusive economic zone, the territorial sea, the contiguous zone, and the internal waters of Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkiye.

The decision also allows up to ten service persons from the Bulgarian Armed Forces to take positions within MCM Black Sea on the territory of Romania and/or Turkiye.
