Addressing a traditional gathering in memory of the so-called "Revival Process" (the forcible assimilation of ethnic Turks in Bulgaria in 1988-1989) near the village of Karamantsi (South Central Bulgaria), Dzhevdet Chakarov, one of the two leaders of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), said that citizens stand at the centre of MRF’s policies.

The MRF candidates for MEPs and those for MPs from the Haskovo Region were presented at the gathering. Mayors and local leaders of the MRF attended the event.

Chakarov, who is the party's top MEP candidate and tops the lists for the national parliament in Razgrad and Silistra, both in Northeastern Bulgaria, said that one of the party's long-term goals is to achieve the same standard for small and large settlements so that disparities are overcome. He stressed that it is very important that there are investments, but investments require qualified workforce. Chakarov explained that the MRF has a clear vision for education reforms to solve this problem.

Chakarov also highlighted that social reforms, health reforms, and reforms in agriculture are also needed.
