The convention establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization became effective in 1970, Patent Office President Olya Dimitrova said. She noted: "Our efforts and the efforts of our international partners are aimed at implementing the national and European standards of legal protection for industrial property and promoting innovation, competitiveness and entrepreneurship for the benefit of society.

Deputy Economy and Industry Minister David Sukalinski said that industrial property, as a type of intellectual property, is acquiring ever greater importance, which should be viewed in the context the EU's ambitious goals about the green transition, the digitization of the internal market and the expanding field of application of artificial intelligence. Sukalinski described intellectual property as one of the main drivers of sustainable economic growth.

CIDNT Chair Radoslav Petrov said the mission of his institution is to contribute to the development of open and inclusive innovation systems in which enterprises can communicate with other European and world economies and ecosystems, effectively protect their ideas and inventions in a knowledge-intensive digital environment, have access to funding, attract skilled employees and develop their business.

BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov said the three award winners deserve these accolades because they work for the future of Bulgaria, for making the nation more competitive and raise it to a leading position in some sectors.
