President to Hold Second Day of Consultations with Political Forces

On Tuesday, President Rumen will have the of consultations with representatives of the parliamentary groups to form a government in the 49th National Assembly, said the presidential press office. The meetings will be with the representatives of the opposition.

Consultations with representatives of the Vazrazhdane parliamentary group will begin at 9:30 am,  a meeting with the BSP for Bulgaria parliamentary group will take plece at 11:30 am, and a meeting with There Is Such a People will be held at 2 pm.

On Monday, President Rad He met with the first, second and third largest groups in Parliament, GERB-UDF, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), in this order.

GERB-UDF and CC-DB said that the dialogue between them was constructive and asked for more time before handing over the first exploratory mandate to form a government. The MRF told the President that they will continue to be a stabilizing factor and will continue to support the government in case of a possible rotation.

Over the weekend, the two formations began negotiations for a joint management agreement and on Monday assured the head of State of a constructive conversation between them.

The resignation of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov was submitted to the Parliament on March 5. The following day, it was approved by the National Assembly, unanimously with 216 votes in favour. On Friday, the outgoing government presented to the Council of Ministers a report on what had been done in the past nine months.
